This is the second release from 99 Blows in 2015. The EP discloses four new various pieces from the Copenhagen based artist. The vibe is pretty much the same as the first release on Clang, spacious, dreamy, melodic, electronic music to sooth the soul. The title is inspired by a New Hampshire license plate and pretty much sums up a live on the road in search of freedom in life and music. Naturally this can create second thoughts whereas to live life and you wake up 6am and go into the studio, which was how that track came about.
Dar Es Salaam was released in an instrumental version on Sound of Copenhagen #12 back in 2013, but this time around the Brooklyn based singer, Emil Bovbjerg, recorded some vocals in his bedroom for the sing. He also plays and writes in the band Bowmont, go check them out.
The cover is an old photo of the artists’ grandparents sailing on the seas of Denmark along time ago. Something they passed on to their grandson, whom often finds peace at sea catching the sunrise.
Out on Clang 23th of October
